Farm Tours & Star Gazing

Something for Everyone

Are you a family looking for something new and different to do? Are you a homeschool family or part of a homeschool group? Are you a 4-H club leader or plan curriculum at a pre-school? Let us know your interests (for example, if you considering raising backyard chickens or are thinking about getting a pet goat) and ages, and I can tailor your visit to best meet your needs. If you have nothing specific in mind, I can plan a broad experience and see where the group’s questions and interests lead us.

Perhaps you are visiting Hampshire County to ride the Potomac Eagle or explore Civil War sites or attend one of the many festivals throughout the year. If so, make our farm one of your stops and learn a little about how a small West Virginia farm operates! And if you’re interested, we will have an assortment of our farm products available for purchase.

Price for Farm Visits: $12 per person for a 2 hour interest driven adventure.

*Customized visits (including snack/beverage, small parties with cake, or special event arrangements may be able to be accommodated available upon request)

Our Farm Family

Each member of our farm family, from the smallest goldfish to the largest cattle, plays a unique and cherished role in our daily lives and the health of our farm.

Meet our diligent ducks, who are not just feathered friends but also our partners in maintaining a pest-free environment. They're currently on a special mission with our neighbor, Julie, to naturally control pests in her garden.

Then there's our school of goldfish, the unsung heroes of our water tanks. They tirelessly work to keep our water clean and mosquito-free, contributing to the overall health and well-being of all our farm residents.

Our cattle, the gentle giants of Dollinger Farm, are the backbone of our livestock. Under Kim's careful stewardship and through her ongoing education in cattle stockmanship, they thrive and contribute to our sustainable farming practices.

Each animal at Dollinger Farm is a beloved family member, contributing not just to the farm's productivity, but also to the joy and fulfillment we experience every day. We invite you to get to know them, understand their roles, and join us in our journey of love, care, and respect for all creatures big and small. Welcome to our farm family!

FAQ

You Asked, We Answered

Star Gazing

We are very blessed to have both rolling pastures and a wooded hillside with a breathtaking view. While we’re only 20 minutes from Rt. 50 and Corridor H, we are somewhat secluded, making us a great location to take advantage of extremely dark night skies. We have open pastures to set up your telescope(s) (we’ll move the animals!) and can host amateur astronomers for a night of sky watching or if you’re just a couple who want to enjoy a quiet evening under the stars in our 2-person hammock.

We would love for you to reach out to us by phone or email and be our next guest at Dollinger Farm. We are committed to make your visit with us a memorable one.

Note:  Maximum group sizes apply depending on activity, ages, and number of adults chaperoning.

Price: 3 hours of star gazing is $10 per person.

*Customized visits (including snack/beverage, small parties with cake, or special event arrangements may be able to be accommodated available upon request)

Over the last 10 years, we have learned so many fascinating things about farming and have come to deeply appreciate the planning and effort it takes to get food from our barnyard to your table. Growing our farm has become our passion and we are excited to share what we’re doing and what we’ve learned with others.
